Accountability Central is a user-friendly, Web-accessed news, information and research resource organized for easy access by visitors and Users to find current and historical or background information on a number of issues, topics and areas of concern.
Subject matter is organized under such topics as “Corporate Governance,” “Ethics,” “Socially Responsible Investing,” and other titles. All of these, in the editors’ views, come under the umbrella of “accountability.”
On the Left Menu Pulldowns are titles for access to news and information related to an issue, topic or area of concern. Clicking here takes the User to a Right Menu choice (follow red arrows) for the following:
NEWS & UPDATES
Breaking news, news releases and news updates (of ongoing story developments) are found in the News & Updates pulldown for each section. Organized latest first and descending in date order. Many news postings have links to other content in Accountability Central and to external sources. The design of Accountability Central is to open a “window” to post the external information so that Users remain within the A-C Web resource.
RESEARCH & INSIGHTS
Research findings and reports from experts in respective fields – academics, Submjeect Matter Experts, researchers, legal & accounting & other professionals, and a wide range of authors – are posted in the respective issue / topic areas. Insights into issues and concerns are also posted here, to provide additional background into trends, recent developments, historical perspective and to enhance understanding of research findings.
COMMENTARY & OPINION
The commentary of experts and those who wish to express opinions on all topic and issue areas of Accountability Central coverage are invited to submit editorial and opinion pieces to the editors for publication in these subsections. The editors of Accountability Central review each submission and reserve the right to publish or deny publication of materials submitted, and to edit for style before publication. The editors are not responsible for the views / opinions expressed by authors.
PLAYERS - STAKEHOLDERS
The major stakeholders who play roles in creating, shaping, advancing ideas and ideals in specific issues and areas of focus – corporate governance, ethics, shareholder advocacy, transparency, etc. – are profiled in these subsections. All information is gathered from public sources and the editors compile profiles. Many profiles are vetted by the subject organizations or individuals. We invite corrections, additions, and other enhancements of profiles from Users. We also invite submission of candidates for profiling for these sections by subject area.
RELEVANT WEB LINKS
Within each subsection there is a list of resource centers were more information can be obtained related to the issue or area of concern – governance, etc. Each Web link has an introduction to highlight contents or focus of the external Web site for the User.
OTHER FEATURES
In addition to the above primary selection tools – Left and Right Menu choices – the editors post important materials with stand-alone “click” choices. These lead the User to deeper reservoirs of information related to the topic or issue areas.
