Mercer is a leading global provider of investment consulting services, and offers customized guidance at every stage of the investment decision, risk management and investment monitoring process. Mercer's Responsible Investment (RI) team leads the industry in helping institutional investors incorporate environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues into investment decision-making and ownership practices.

The RI unit seeks an analyst to support US client work and business development. The analyst will also support the global RI unit on global marketing, communications and client management. This is a 12 month contract. 

In this role the analyst will:

  • Research RI issues and themes for use in client work and intellectual capital development (client reports, articles, presentations, etc.)
  • Participate in investment strategy research (involves quantitative and qualitative analysis)
  • Develop proposals and other materials to expand RI business in the US
  • Work on global website, newsletter and marketing materials
  • Author/co-author public materials such as  publications, articles and white papers
  • Interact with a variety of internal colleagues, clients, fund managers, and RI industry professionals.
  • Support RI colleagues on a variety of projects as necessary.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience within the financial services sector
  • Experience and familiarity with Responsible Investment 
  • Degree (BA/BS) in business, economics, finance or related/relevant discipline, Masters Degree and/or CFA preferable
  • Demonstrated technical/analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated time management skills
