Jill Cochrane runs The Vertex Group, part of Vertex Training International, a leading communications training company working with business and public sector clients throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. The group runs Media and Presentation Skills training, Message and Team Building skills courses, senior mentoring and advice to Senior executives in many countries.  Major clients, include The Metropolitan Police, the Office of Fair Trading, parts of the Cabinet Office and Global Pharmaceutical clients and major worldwide corporations. The Company trains single KOLs and multiple groups in USA, the Middle East, Far East and most European countries.

Until she began her company in 1986 Jill was better known for her extensive work in Radio and Television.  She won the Gold Award at the New York International Television and Film Festival and the Sandford St Martin Trust Award for Radio.  She currently presents film documentaries for Independent Television in the UK.  

Jill served four years as Chairman of The Institute of Directors in Kent overseeing 45,000 Small and Medium sized businesses in the south of England.  She is a non-executive Board Director of one of the UK’s ITV stations, Chairman of a large independent Radio station, and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Primary School in London’s East End. She is also sits on the Board of Directors of the Women of the Year Lunch and Assembly and is an honorary associate of a National Art and Design Institution.

Further voluntary work includes work with Young Enterprise, The Prince’s (The Prince of Wales’) Trust, a Hospice and – a national residential community for children needing safe refuge.

Jill holds professional memberships with the National Union of Journalists, British Equity and IVCA (International Visual Communications Association) and she is a Fellow of the Royal Television Society and of the Royal Society of Arts.

Jill is married with three children and two stepchildren.
