Greening

Every company seems to be going green, looking at the flow of “green” news from Corporate America.  Looking to the European Union, it appears that the trend may be more pronounced among continental and UK-based corporations.  A growing number of investors are interested in the greening practices, programs and policies of corporations; for an increasing number of investors these factors may be significant in their investment (or divestment) decision-making.

There is dramatically rising interest in corporate sector greening as well among important stakeholders – employees (and prospective employees), suppliers, business partners, customers, lenders, regulators, and others.  One of the key questions raised by stakeholders is:  Is this [greening] initiative by the company substantive or is it just PR?  The answers matter!  In this section of Accountability Central the editors bring you news, research and insights, commentary and opinion, and identify key players and stakeholders to help you understand better the greening of corporations and the business sector.
